Philosophy

Haeji Kang and Bill NelsonGreat athletes and business leaders are able to perform at very high levels under intense pressure. They are able to do this because they can manage their thoughts to achieve the goals that they envision. Their thought patterns are simple, yet powerful. This is where Bill Nelson can help you. He will teach you how to a create purpose and set goals to achieve the results that you want. You will have tools specifically designed for you to help improve focus, self belief, and composure. You will learn how to process thoughts like worry, fear, anxiety, lack of confidence, and loss of focus. You will learn how to Train, Trust, and Triumph.

Train

TrainThe ability to Train and do it effectively lies at the core of what I teach. It does not matter what sport you play or what business you are in, if you want to be successful you have to master the skills of your chosen field. There are no shortcuts. There are ways, however, to learn these skills in an efficient way so you can speed up the process. This is where I can help you succeed.

The Training Mode is where athletes and business leaders spend most of their time. In the Training Mode you acquire the skills necessary to compete at the highest level. You want to work hard while you are Training, but you also want to work smart. You want to think, analyze, and gain the proper feedback so when you get in competition you can actually think less and accomplish more. You do not win golf tournaments on Sunday afternoon with millions of people watching. You actually win golf tournaments in the hours and months leading up to the tournament, on the range and practice green when you are alone and no one is watching. This is the time you put the work in, so that the performance is easy.

In the area of Training you will learn how to create a dynamic purpose for your success. This purpose will help you create your goals so you can develop a solid plan. You will also learn the importance of modeling behavior and how this skill will make your learning as efficient as possible. You will learn the importance of routines and habits so that you can maintain the consistency needed to ensure your success. You will learn how and when to evaluate most effectively to give yourself the best feedback possible. Finally you will learn how to reward yourself so that the Training is fun and meaningful. When you learn how to Train properly you will be in a position to Trust.

Trust

TrustWhen we enter the competitive arena we are no longer in the Training Mode. If you are a golfer it is time to Trust that the Training you have done is in place and you are ready to play. You need to move your focus off of yourself and onto to the shot you want to hit. If you are in business and you have a big presentation or speech to make, you should have practiced the presentation or speech enough times to move your focus onto the customer or audience and away from yourself. As Tiger Woods has said, "I allow the training to take over and it’s like I get out of my own way." Too many performers are in their own way. They try too hard, try to do too much, and ultimately fail. The great performers keep things simple, they make it look easy because they Trust their skills and abilities.

In the Trust Mode you will learn the secrets on how to Focus properly. You will learn what Self Belief is and how to feel confident in any situation. You will learn the importance of Composure. It is ok to be nervous, everyone is from time to time, but how do you manage yourself so you can handle it. Finally, you will gain skills so you can deal with self-doubt, worry, fear, or anxiety.

When you know how to Train properly, and you allow yourself to Trust your abilities, you are prepared to Triumph.

Triumph

TriumphAt Mind Management Group every practice session, every meeting, and every tournament is a Triumph. We don't always achieve success but every experience provides for a wonderful learning opportunity and the feedback we need to improve and get better. When asked if a recent poor tournament resulted in a setback Tiger Woods said, "There is no such thing as a setback." When viewed properly every experience is a win. Our results should either validate that what we are working on is correct or provide an opportunity to adjust our plan and forge ahead with a better plan for Training. At Mind Management Group, there are no losses, only Triumphs.
